Tapas the News Black

Wednesday February 25 2009
With only days to go before my special day we decided to take our overseas visitors for a taste of Spain. As we'd never been to Duende in Leederville we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try it out and remind our guests of home. Having never eaten at a Tapas bar before we were guided by our helpful waiter into deciding between the delicious options available to try. But before we tantaslised the tastebuds we quenched our thirst with some yummy Sangria. Being Portuguese this fruity drink is a favourite of mine so we indulged a little more than usual. When the food came out we did not know where to begin - the choices were endless, Sicilian Olives, Fried Whitebait, Grilled Chorizo, Potato Bravas, Salt Cod fritters, Wagyu Meatballs, Duck Empanada and Seafood Paella - all superb and leaving us chomping at the bit. I'd heard rumours about Duende and all were true - this cosy, cool Spanish Tapas Bar transports you to another world and one I can't wait to visit again SOON!

Belinda and her overseas visitor Carla get stuck into the sangria!
