Recent cooking disaster (Friday): Was making a pavlova & in a multi-tasking moment turned oven to hottest instead of off after pav was cooked. Realised after about 10 minutes - totally ruined. :)
ReplyDeleteI tried to cook a stir-fry once and even though your not supposed do cook anything right through & took it literally including the chicken, needless to say it ended up in the bin!
ReplyDeleteI cooked a mint/choc cake and opened the oven midway through the baking. It was as flat as pancake when I took it out. Choc/mint pancake anyone?
ReplyDeleteP.S The necklace is for my girlfriend!
While cooking a beef/bean hotpot, I was happily chatting to an old friend when the time came to add cornflour. I mixed the cornflour with a touch of water, added it to the hotpot and watched in horror as my hotpot began foaming, higher and higher. Dropped the phone and checked the cornflour... oops, it was bicarb soda.
ReplyDeleteLast week I experimented with beef wellington. I took a few short cuts including with the pastry and used shortcrust instead of making my own. It came out of the oven rock hard and tasted more like a sweet dish instead of savoury. We pulled it all apart and only ate the inside which was strangely enough ok.
ReplyDeleteHey guys loving the stories, keep them coming - B x
